Safety Exit

A Special Announcement from AGAPE's Board of Directors

by Tara Swafford, on behalf of the Board of Directors on September 29, 2025

Exemplary and passionate leadership is rare, and AGAPE has been blessed with both in Chandler Means.  Since 2012, Chandler has served as Executive Director, guiding AGAPE through a period of remarkable growth and transformation.  Under his leadership, AGAPE has become a trusted resource for professional counseling, foster care/adoption, and advocacy for victims of domestic violence throughout Middle Tennessee.
The Board of Directors shares that Chandler has decided to retire at the end of 2026.  While he steps back from day-to-day leadership, Chandler will continue to be connected to AGAPE in a new capacity, lending his wisdom and support. This transition also gives him more time to focus on family and friends—and perhaps enjoy a little extra travel and golf.

The Board of Directors appointed search committee is opening a search for AGAPE’s next Executive Director.  First, we ask for prayers from those who faithfully support AGAPE as we begin this endeavor.  Additionally, the Board announces there will be an open period during which we will consider those who feel qualified and called to lead AGAPE’s future.  A candidate must also be a member in good standing of a local church of Christ.  If you or someone you know wishes to be considered for this opportunity, please submit a biography, resume, and cover letter HERE.  A job description can be found HERE.  These links will remain open until Friday, November 14, 2025.

On behalf of AGAPE, we are truly excited about the strategic future of this wonderful ministry and are even more excited about the ways God will bless its future!
