Rachel Hyland, MS, LPC-MHSP (temp)

Counselor

Rachel was inspired to become a counselor after walking out her own healing journey with a trusted and caring counselor. Since then, her desire to help others make sense of their problems and develop positive ways of coping has been her guiding passion. Rachel’s career path first began as an elementary teacher where she taught young children for over 20 years before obtaining her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University. She has completed training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and helps individuals and couples address their dysfunctional coping patterns and develop healthier attachments.

Rachel believes that the thoughts we have about ourselves and our circumstances are largely shaped by our closest relationships. When our relationships are challenging, our beliefs about ourselves and our circumstances can become clouded and negative. Rachel enjoys working with men and women of all ages, helping them take a deeper look into the internal beliefs that fuel their unhelpful thoughts and keep them locked in unhealthy patterns. It is her goal to help clients grow in self-compassion and find a way back to the truest version of themselves.

Rachel operates under the supervision of Joy Samuels, PhD, LPC/MHSP and sees clients at AGAPE's NorthField office in Gallatin and the main office in Nashville.
