Foster Care at AGAPE
AGAPE provides foster care for children ages birth through 17 years old who are in the custody of the State of TN/Department of Children’s Services. AGAPE homes care for level 1 and level 2 children. Our agency serves child and families in Davidson County and the Mid-Cumberland DCS Regions. Foster families make a difference in helping children to feel loved, cared for, important and capable, even if it is only for a short time. When God works through you as a foster parent, you can do more than you think possible. AGAPE’s Mission is to strengthen children and families with the healing love of Christ through counseling and social services. It is also vitally important to understand that children in care experience trauma, simply by being removed from their home.
Currently, the Department of Children’s Services has approximately 9,200 children in care across the State. AGAPE works with two of twelve DCS Regions in TN serving Davidson and Mid-Cumberland children and families. At any given time, our Foster Care Program could have 60-80 foster children.
