Shanna Shilling, LMSW

Assistant Clinical Director

Shanna Shilling, LMSW, joined AGAPE in April 2019, serving the Morning Star Domestic Violence program. A Licensed Master Social Worker, holding both Bachelor of Social Work & Master of Science in Social Work degrees, she has helped adults and families heal since 2007.

Shanna’s unique experience includes outpatient mental health, psychiatric rehabilitation, substance use recovery across inpatient, MAT, IOP/outpatient and residential treatment settings, and re-entry support with those experiencing & exiting incarceration. Her clinical work addresses anxiety, depression/mood disorder, substance use, shame, attachment, trauma, relational conflict, goal planning, stress management, self-regulation, social skills, anger management, grief, life transitions, and professional development.

Shanna believes in the salient drive each of us holds to do better. In that, her passion is to come alongside in a journey to find hope, purpose & meaning in all experiences. Each of us has a distinct story worth sharing. Our experiences speak not just of struggle but also of an often-unclaimed capacity to move through any situation victoriously. We are designed to mend, grow, and thrive.

Her client centered, experiential approach to counseling rests on a strong commitment to safe and collaborative relationships. Offering a steady, non-judgmental space allows an opportunity to explore values & goals and lends to a better knowing of self - a refinement that fosters an identity apart from pain. Through wellness focused education and care, clients will become more aware of individual needs, relational impacts, and how hardships sometimes create longstanding barriers to wholeness. In this space, heavy chains and crippling cycles are broken. There is nothing like witnessing those-once stifled and discouraged, catch fresh wind to reach a new state of becoming and peace.

Shanna sees clients at the main office in Nashville.
