Adoption is an option.

There are many situations that can cause a pregnancy to become a crisis. Being pregnant may not always be a joyful occasion but the child that was created deserves careful thought and attention so that you can to turn a crisis into a blessing. Adoption may be that blessing if you are not able to parent your child. Your maternity counselor will help you to look at options, which may include a connection to resources that will enable you to parent your child or plan for adoption. Your maternity counselor will also talk with you about self-care during pregnancy and about what you may need to ensure a healthy birth.

If you choose adoption, you will be able to review profiles of trained and approved adoptive couples and then select a family. The degree of openness is based on your wishes and those of the adoptive parents. It is your choice whether or not to meet the adoptive parents. Babies are placed thoughtfully and prayerfully with the goal of securing a loving home that will provide safety, support, and guidance. Adoptive couples attend a training course to prepare them for adoption and must have a home study approved, which involves background checks, physical exams, references, and personal interviews. Every effort is made to evaluate personal strengths and parenting styles of each couple.
