For a number of reasons children have to leave their families and enter the foster care system. Sometimes the children are victims of abuse and neglect. Parents who abuse alcohol and drugs or have emotional problems do not always make the best decisions regarding the care of their children. Sometimes, families face homelessness, financial hardships, lack family support, and are weighed down with stress that is unmovable. AGAPE typically has 50 to 70 of these children in foster care on any given day.
